Music & Modernism 1890 1975
A detailed examination of European art music and its contexts from 1890s-1975 against the predominant aesthetic of
modernism. Music making will be explored from a variety of interpretive frameworks including gender, race, and ideology.
Works by women and visible minorities will be included.
Prerequisites: MU266 (or MU264*) and MU271, or permission of the instructor.
